Grown slow, on preserved land.
In 2014, KC Sullivan started growing mushrooms on Mighty Dare Farm — a 25-acre parcel of preserved farmland in historic Millstone, New Jersey. The idea was simple and a little stubborn: New Jersey deserved gourmet mushrooms grown here, organically, by people who care how food tastes.
A decade later, Two River is still small-scale by choice. We became New Jersey’s first USDA Organic mushroom farm — and we remain the only one in the state growing this range of specialty strains. We grow regeneratively, under the sun that powers the farm, and pick every harvest by hand — often the same morning it goes home with you.
Today our mushrooms are on the menus of 40+ of the area’s finest restaurants, at farmers’ markets across the state, and in the kitchens of home cooks who stop by the barn. The broth we brew from them has been named among the best specialty foods in the country.

Five patient steps
Organic hardwood blocks, living culture, weeks of quiet incubation — then fresh air, high humidity, and a hand-picked harvest at peak. No shortcuts, because you can taste shortcuts.
